The most effective allergy relief is not antihistamine, but identifying the cause of your allergy and from there you can start treating it. There are several types of allergies and there are many causes as well. Examples of allergies are food allergies, insect-sting allergies, latex allergies, drug and chemical allergies, and seasonal allergies. We commonly call these causes of allergy as allergens, but in holistic medicine they call it as allergies stressors. Here are some of the stressors that may cause you an allergic attack:
- The food that you eat.
- Water that you drink.
- Your home.
- Supplements you take.
- Drugs you take.
- Dental fillings and root canals.
- Chemicals you breathe.
- Emotional behavior.
- Mental Stressors.
In this video by Dr. John Char explains these different allergies stressors. He will also talk about EMF from towers and fluorescent lights that causes sickness. Also, you’ll find out how the walls inside your home can cause stress to each family members. Aside from that, Dr. Char will discuss how supplements and GMO can cause allergies.
If you watched the video already, you’re already aware on how allergy is managed in holistic medicine and how holistics provide homeopathic allergy relief. Dr. Char emphasized many times in his video that the first step in treating allergy is by identifying the stressors causing the attack; followed by balancing things out or neutralizing the stressors. On the last stage you can now purge the stressor through the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspect.
Odd Sources of Allergens:
A man’s moustache can harbor pollen grains that may cause allergy attacks. You can try shaving it off during allergy season, or at least shampoo it with liquid soap a couple times a day. A study by Dr. Patricia McNally and her colleagues at the Mid-Atlantic Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Virginia concluded that by washing mustaches with liquid soap two times a day reduced the number of antihistamines and decongestants that were needed to calm the subjects’ allergy symptoms during an attack.
An owner of a green thumb is prone to an allergic attack if he or she uses wicker baskets as a planter. You may not be aware of this, but wickers are capable of causing irritating allergic attacks. You may find wicker baskets attractive, but they retain moisture and are perfect breeding grounds for mold. One natural allergy relief is by putting your plants in ceramic or plastic pots and then into the baskets.
Hay fever is an allergy caused by pollen and mold spores in the air. Remember that during springtime, there’s pollen from trees and grass. Since pollen count is highest from sunrise to 10:00 in the morning, if it is possible for you to stay indoors during those hours, then it would be better. Also, if you have a lawn or garden always keep your grass short – no taller than an inch high. This will lower your exposure to grass pollen. Always make it a practice to wear a mask during gardening and vacuuming.
If you notice that you’re getting allergies after driving your car, and then make sure to close your windows while driving. And don’t forget to turn on the air-conditioning system. And as soon you get home, shower off and shampoo out the allergens that you may have carried in with you. While staying at home during pollen season, keep your windows closed. You can use your air conditioner and dehumidifier in your home to filter out pollen and mod and destroy dust mites.
One of the proven temporary allergy remedies is honeycomb. Chew a bite-size chunk (a 1-inch square) of honeycomb twice a day at the start of a hay fever attack. The comb may form a ball of wax that should be chewed from 5- 10 minutes. It will give you temporary relief from sneezing, runny nose, and teary eyes. Other home remedies for allergy relief include bone pollen, boneset, fennel, horseradish, and mullein. Sorry for sharing this lengthy post, but if you have sensitivity to some allergens this will really help you a lot. Thank you so much!
