- Other herbs that are used as home remedies for constipation are flax seed, aloe vera, chlorophyll, psyllium hulls, licorice root, ginger root, red clover tops, capsicum fruits, and barberry bark.
- Drink 8 glasses of water a day. This will keep your bowel movement regularly. Remember that lack of water intake is one of the causes of constipation.
- Another effective remedy is simply exercise. Doing exercise may be painful to some, but it has so many health benefits. Exercise can stimulate your circulation and metabolism while keeping your bowel movement regular.
- The easiest way to treat your constipation is by eating more foods that are high in fiber. Fruits, vegetables and cereals are very high in fiber which gives bulk in stools while absorbing more water and making eliminating easier.
